World Book Day Celebration

There was no sign of any children at Bhaktivedanta Manor School on Thursday 7thMarch but instead we were joined by various personalities from the book of Krishna; children and staff alike, were un-recognisable as we celebrated World Book Day.

Lord Shiva, Gopi Girls, Radtha Rani and  Cowherd Boys were amongst the many characters present at the whole school assembly where we shared favourite Krishna stories and staff talked about the characters they were portraying. The children also took part in a vote for the adult with the “best outfit.” It was a close call but Mother Moksha  (also known as Yashoda) was the winner!

The day was a great success! Thank you to everyone who got involved and helped make it such an enjoyable day.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all you lovely busy parents, who supported your children to dress up. World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it is a celebration of reading! As always, the £1 book token that is given to all children, should have made its way home to you. It can be redeemed against any book purchase in many bookstores.

We hope you enjoy looking at the photos of the day!
