As part of the schools “Safety Week” in September, the children were visited by both the Firefighters and the local Police. The children eagerly heard and explored safety measures that they themselves can remember in order to stay safe as well as the importance of “telling an adult” and “calling 999”. They enthusiastically dressed in the uniforms, held the handcuffs and batons. They also explored the fire truck, tools as well as the Police van and they all got the chance to spray the fire hose and race against the speed monitor.
It was an exciting visit, where the children could understand the important role that the police and firemen play in the community as well as the way in which each individual can stay safe and protected.
